New School Building
January 31st 2018
Construction of the new school building is well underway in preparation for the opening on February 12th.
November 15th - The ceremony was a great success ! The students enjoyed their celebration and were very proud of their achievements! It was a great day overall. To represent the English volunteer teachers, a speech was given by two Canadian volunteers (Doug and Debbie) who thanked Ocotepeque for hosting them and talked about the benefits of a bilingual education.
Happy Independence Day Honduras !
My Little Red House Bilingual School marching band kicked off Independence Day (Sept. 15) celebrations with a parade around town. Flag bearers, drummers, the Indian Princess, star students, English teachers, and more were all on hand and marching through the streets of Ocotepeque.
Profesora Alba Gloria Musical Festival
This month, we celebrated our first annual Profesora Alba Gloria Music Festival in honor of Profa. Alba Gloria Penman and her career of over 50 years as a teacher in the Ocotopeque region. We had lots of fun, some good homemade food, and many excellent performances by the students and teachers alike. High hopes for next year's festival!
Children's Day is a simple celebration that thanks children...well, for being children! The teachers dress up and the children enjoy activities, music, parades, free food and candy, and pinatas. Who wouldn't love being a kid on this day?
