Opening day for My Little Red House

My Little Red House finally opened the doors to its brand new building on Monday. After months of work and preparation, the school welcomed students and hosted a ceremony honoring the country and all the people who contribute to the school.

Graduation CeremonyNovember 15th - The ceremony was a great success ! The students enjoyed their celebration and were very proud of their achievements! It was a great day overall. To represent the English volunteer teachers, a speech was given by two Canadian volunteers (Doug and Debbie) who thanked Ocotepeque for hosting them and talked about the benefits of a bilingual education.

Happy Independence Day Honduras !
September 15th

My Little Red House Bilingual School marching band kicked off Independence Day (Sept. 15) celebrations with a parade around town. Flag bearers, drummers, the Indian Princess, star students, English teachers, and more were all on hand and marching through the streets of Ocotepeque.
Profesora Alba Gloria Musical Festival

This month, we celebrated our first annual Profesora Alba Gloria Music Festival in honor of Profa. Alba Gloria Penman and her career of over 50 years as a teacher in the Ocotopeque region. We had lots of fun, some good homemade food, and many excellent performances by the students and teachers alike. High hopes for next year's festival!
Children's Day

Children's Day is a simple celebration that thanks children...well, for being children! The teachers dress up and the children enjoy activities, music, parades, free food and candy, and pinatas. Who wouldn't love being a kid on this day?
