Welcome to My Little Red House Bilingual School
_We
are a bilingual school in the
mountainous region of Ocotepeque, Honduras. The school, which teachers kindergarten through ninth grade, enables children to have a better future, with a greater potential for a successful life by integrating English and Spanish.
My Little Red House Bilingual School started in 1998 as the dream of two local women — Carol Penman and her mother, Alba Gloria Penman — in the backyard of the Penman family home. Today, the school is a flourishing institution, well-respected within Nueva Ocotepeque.
The school needs the help of its donors, as well as international, native English-speaking volunteers. If you would like to contribute to the success of our school, please contact us at: littleredbilingualschool @gmail.com. Thank you for taking the time to learn about My Little Red House Bilingual School.

We Are Different Because:
- We are non-profit, private and independent
- Native English speakers staff our English program
- We were founded by a group of local mothers
- We offer scholarships to our students
- We are affordable
- We are academically challenging.
However, we need your help to continue improving our school. Read more about School History and What Makes Us Different.
Join Our Volunteer Team
_My Little Red House Bilingual School depends on native, English-speaking volunteers to teach our English
program. It is a unique and rewarding experience to volunteer with the
school and it can change the lives of the students and the volunteers. Ocotepeque is a safe,
peaceful, friendly town set among the northwestern mountainous region of Honduras,
making it a
beautiful place to live.
The Penman family is dedicated to education and making a difference in the community. They are gracious, generous and very friendly, and welcome all volunteers with open arms. All long-term volunteers (six months or longer) receive free accommodation at the Penman family home, three meals per day, and purified drinking water. Come join our team and help make a difference.
